insights, stories & healing

in practice

Welcome to my blog.

A space where I share real-life stories, case studies, and practical wisdom from my work in integrative health.

Here, you’ll find educational resources, honest reflections on complex conditions, and glimpses of what healing can look like in practice.

There is no separating the physical body from the emotional, mental and spiritual bodies.

As a Christian, I know that our Creator gave each of us a soul, that is attached to a spirit, both housed in a physical body. Because of that intricate weaving, our physical symptoms and dysfunction are always a result of the breakdown that first occurred in the emotional/mental or spiritual body first.

Science Correlates This

Here are a few areas to investigate if you are searching for the “why” or “how” to your symptoms.

Asking “Why Did I Get Sick?”

As you begin to ask the question of “Why did I get sick?” I want to provide some context and connections over the next few blog posts that will be supportive and helpful.

Threads to Consider in Your Journey

  • What do I know about my parents’ health history, upbringing and genetics? What emotions and traumas have they experienced? If they have chronic symptoms, at what age did each symptom start?
  • What is my ACE study score?
  • Am I a type A personality?
  • Do I have people-pleasing, high-achieving, organized traits?
  • Has my family of origin experienced any losses, traumatic events or difficult experiences?
(Loss of a child/sibling, military family, moved often, poverty, etc.)
  • Did I receive any vaccines between ages 12–18, such as the Gardasil/HPV shot?
  • Did I travel internationally and become sick while abroad?

All of these events have been shown to correlate to nervous system stress and breakdown later on in an individual’s life.

When trying to put together the pieces of your story, consider the immense load of strain these criteria can put on a physical body.

Next, let’s talk about trapped emotions and how they correlate to daily symptom patterns.
